There was a time, there were women working not for money but for upliftment of the communities. These were happier times, and midwives often used to be paid for work too. They used to guide the new mothers, newly married girls to even women about how they can deal with things in better way.
Midwives used to provide all kinds of solutions. They were typically post-menopause women, who had lived life growing up their babies to young adults to sincere adults.
The responsibility of young generation is not just on schools but on parents as well. And often midwives used to play various roles in helping parents deal with parenting issues. There were no problems in society then.
Midwives even used to care of deliveries and post delivery issues women used to face. There are some places in world where midwives still are there and work well with the system and are paid for the accomplishments.
Further, they are I think mostly on post menopause time of their lives, hence not much of children and husband concerns they have and can work and earn money for family and student college education as well.
Given the growing restlessness in youth today– I believe post-menopause women should start to work in healing the youth as many families have both parents as working.
We need more midwives in society, we need women in post-menopause to rise up. And take their roles in healing the society. People need you, you have experience of raising your kids, family well. Why not serve the world now ? Its time ? Children need more of support these days, working parents can not devote so much time. Come and take back your role in society.
So many children need you, so many teenagers need you. Come out and take up your roles–with your pink resume.
