Note: Some of these are analogies, and inferences drawn from other businesses and other business aims read by author in past. The businessmen here may not be doing these practices but there are as I said analogies and inferences of the author for anonymous past business owners works and transitions. In case your business is not performing the same, we apologize for correct judgment in your case.
The same goes for — Vivek Ganapathy Ramaswamy
The last President who was in business incurred huge losses in business while he was serving his work with the government. As he never got time to work on business when on duty.
Elon Musk is different, when he came to power, his shares rose to new limits. I think we should keep it separate (1) SpaceX and Mission to Mars and (2) Government works for welfare of people and country. For example, going to Mars is good, and preparing to go to Mars is good, but that is not a government’s aim. Government’s aim is welfare of people, managing people get what is needed, happiness of people, development and security of people. There is time that Mars would get ready for life, till then let it be the company’s agenda. The government can buy some land on Mars from the company in 3 decades, or more,
Here are some points:
— Elon Musk owns Electric Car company, would his post in government make rule to allow automatic cars on roads without getting cars clearing the driving license tests?
— What happens in USA is followed worldwide, till now this was the status quo.
— Lets separate form personal business aims.
— Serve the nation.
— Right now going to Mars is a bluff, who knows how well can civilizations be based out on Mars. It may take a decade to establish settlements in colonies on Mars, and maybe Oxygen is too rare a thing on Mars even then.
— Going to Mars can be a research and development project in the astrophysics department, which the government can fund or why not SpaceX can fund.
— But really going on Mars is nowhere near. So why should government invest in shares of a potential project. So, I think he should not sell shares to government at least, in case he thinks of it.
— Going to Mars is a global Earth project, means on global level, not a country or not a group of western alliance aim.
— So many groups around world are working on going to Mars, Elon can combine all of these to reach more collaborative works example, Chinese too are in Space Station in space, they too want to go to Mars, India too have space aims, Europe too have aims, but all these are not aim of USA, these are global projects not nations projects.
— Or is Elon Musk ready to resign from so many businesses he is part of, X, xAI, SpaceX, NeuraLink, Tesla, ?
— Personal business aims should not interfere with politics.
— What about China business aims? On one side we have TikTok controversy on the other side is cars sale in China?
— Would Elon Musk continue his business if he joins full-time or part-time employee/consultant of government?
— Such choices are there in most consulting jobs as well. If you are consultant you are not allowed to leak the details of the work done and you would abide by consulting rules.
— If not full-time job, then his business must not profit form government links.
— Next is the freedom to speak on X.com, given it was said it is a free speech medium?
— xAI versus OpenAI? Means legal battles, business battles, and sensitive government positions.
