Leaders, lawmakers, experts, businessmen, and policymakers from all around the world have gathered in UAE to discuss climate actions for the coming year, along with them are students, researchers, minority representatives, and guests to mention a few. The need for them to come is to discuss the matters and actions related to climate change, Earth, pollution, … and at the same time to discuss climate-related innovations that can help their local regions to Earth at large. Here are my views on the climate front, given Climate Summit is going on…
All this to say — in short are the following points that need to be thought of while considering climate actions, climate initiatives and in reduction of climate change calamities.
- Its 70 years of fast-paced progress around the world which brought Earth to this stage. Who all participated in this race for being at par in developing their nations?
- Which countries took part in the race to be a developing or an ultra-developing nation?
- Emissions- which companies? What about emissions by cars?
- Let’s go Dutch in areas that are not direct responsibility of global efforts on investment in Earth’s future, like you invest in your child’s future. Those who can’t afford it must be provided help.
- All should share the burden of the future of Earth ?
- Pollution and climate crisis are part of the by-products of this phase of developing.
- The development reached are not just utilized by developed countries alone, it’s the people from all walks of world now that is using these developments.
- World is now a connected globe, this is part of development.
- Now the research is fast and results are faster, as compared to 100 years prior.
- It’s not just a few countries that are reaping the fruits of development but the entire world.
- It’s not just a fight over compensation for climate-specific events in world.
- It’s a joint effort.
- It’s a commitment.
- Its a continuing effort.
- Its about educating people to choose green products, that are environment friendly.
- Yes, some countries as in parts under developed parts of world, and are for sure not involved in the process of development that they can afford the cost of development. These nations must be supported for calamities that they are not responsible for.
- It’s about saying no to products made form plastic.
- It’s about starting to use natural products rather than artificial by-products of environment-harming substances.
- It’s about jointly investing in research and development activities.
- As much as we say the future of our child in the same way we should say, its for the future of our Earth.
- Pollution can be of various kinds- land pollution, water pollution and air pollution.
- Separate innovations are required to treat these three kinds of pollutions: land, water and air.
- We cant just keep innovating, its time to bring the past years innovations in practice.
- Yes implement the research in pollution and work on incremental way for new developments to reduce pollution of all three kinds, not just air pollution.
- Yes, water pollution does not cover the ambit of air pollution and the rise of carbon presence in various forms in the air. But water pollution is harming the life of living beings in water, and making an imbalance in carbon in water, this is also pollution, which can reduce fish and other aquatic lives. This reduces fishers’ livelihood, and hence is a part of climate calamities.
- Land pollution can make soils infertile, and decreasing the output out of farming on these lands, causing famine.
- Droughts are another area of climate change and help must be provided to needful countries. Further, solutions are required as well.
- Every country should commit to give p% of their GDP to be invested in global funds to cure Earth. Or a better parameter can be devised. However, it should not be blame game job. That is it should not be blaming each other on who would pay what.
- What has happened has happened, lets focus on what is there to do now.
- Buy a disposable glass rather than a plastic glass, is my message, to all dealers, yes one cent would be a prize higher for the disposable, now it is upto your government to decide, you would pay the price or it would pay the prize.
- Let’s remove plastics, and tell innovators, that you have done innovation, but these are not in the hands of street vendors yet!
- Lets remove pollution form air, how? Is a big question! But its answer is very small — — — — — Nature says grow plants, feed plants and make trees. Trees would convert air back to what it was, till the time tree grows up, till then, use the lab innovations made by so many researchers to reduce pollution. Increase funding in this research.
- Go Green Everyone, one plant per house to start with!
- Adopt lands and gardens those who can, those who are gifted in wealth.
- Adopt Earths parts, water, land or air, lets heal Earth together.
- Let’s adopt the old pond now without water but just some algae in it.
- Let there be no barren land.
- Let countries declare their green lands, build up lands and barren lands.
- Let there be green lush grass and plants all over.
- Let the rivers be clean, let the seas be clear for sea giants to sea creatures.
- Let debris be out to be recycled.
- Lets recycle !
- Lets produce raw materials form land and not in factories.
- Choose green fashion, why all these dresses that can not rot back to mud in the soil?
- Choose jute, threads, cotton, silk, … to make clothes, not shiny synthetic products. Same for other men, women and children accessories.
- Use more natural fibers.
- And still, we know we can’t phase out all things in one go till we get substitutes as we still need things.
- Other topics such as solar panels, wind turbines,… and electric power generation are already being discussed at best levels at COP at their best.
Let’s build hope and not complain, as we and our ancestors all are responsible for what we use in our lives, plastic, petrol cars, coal for rail, to even electricity, we know it, it was our choice.
Be hopeful, and know hope brings results.
Now is our choice to work for alternatives. The alternative is Nature and Nature itself. Innovation and research can convert natural products into forms that we need for a better future. The speed at which humans were working to make development never gave it much change to see what are the side effects. Its just since 30 years humans started talking seriously on climate issues, and check the pollution on land, air and water, it’s time to use these facts, to use these innovations and to work ahead in tandem.
Small efforts by everyone in world can create great impact.
Now tell, if each one of a 8 billion person of Earth grows a tree, a year, how much pollution can it reduce?
And now, how many trees each of the 8 billion people need to grow to make earth healthier again ?
How much time would it take?
Or if each one person on Earth can follow the scientist for 5 minutes a day/week, how much can it help in climate calamity?
Such a science is also needed out of such a summit apart from other solutions that are being discussed there such as investment in solar panels, electric production of energy…..Let’s not forget trees.
