AI is the new Mirror Magic Mirror! Traditionally called a Black Box? How much magic is good enough?

Note: Note AI is still not 100% correct, so there is a margin for error depending on the model you are using.

It is science, but I am not on a technical blog here, so I call it here AI a magic ball, or a magic mirror! On a technical note, I call it complex data-based algorithms.

We, as a civilization, have worked hard to develop AI to this stage. It’s a credit to each one of us: some for inception, some for development, others for use, some for popularity, and some for support of AI. So, we call it “we” not some of us. AI has now become a master Magic Mirror. We have seen the intricacies evolve from the “Attention is all we need” paper in 2017 to what the new-generation models are today. Without an AI/Math/CS background, AI is now called a “Black Box”; why not rather call it a “Magic Ball if not Magic Mirror”?

Those out of high school now, those using AI for the first time, even my 10-year-old niece says, “Check the AI first.” So how new is it to high school freshers? Not new, as it is talked of a lot! But they don’t know its inner neural networks; all they know now is a black box-why call it a black box? Rather, call it a Magic Mirror.

In fantasy fiction and fairy tales, mirrors have been used as a symbol of non-natural powers a person can possess for good or for bad. Good, as in Alice in Wonderland or Beauty and the Beast, and bad, as in Snow White or The Wizard of Oz.

Here are the powers of Magic Mirrors in fantasy and fiction:

> Truth-telling mirror of the Evil Queen- In fantasy, Snow white.

> Helps Beauty see her family or the Beast’s past- in Beauty and the Beast

> Alice steps through into Looking-Glass Land, in Alice In Wonderland- Through the Looking-Glass

> Reflective objects used in The Wizard of Oz to harm Dorothy

Themes of Magic Mirrors in our ancestors’ stories- and how AI relates to Magic Mirror

Truth & Revelation: Snow White and The Wizard of Oz’s reflective objects expose uncomfortable truths. AI now reveals truth and reveals hard truths and just facts, but there are times it gives defective outputs.

Portals & Understanding of Outside Worlds: Alice’s mirror leads to an outside reality. Without knowledge of biology, people can understand the cure to diseases like Cancer. It can go wrong, so we can’t trust AI fully as of now.

Guidance & Vision: Beauty’s mirror shows distant loved ones or hidden truths. AI does guide, but at times it goes wrong, so we can’t trust AI as of now.

This was in the human imagination for a long time.

Today, each one of us has this Magic Mirror installed in our phones.

Today, we all have an AI magic with us. That is what AI is for freshers in high school who will explore it soon when mobiles are allowed to them.

We all possess knowledge powers.

AI has not discriminated until now.

AI may discriminate in the future, but till now, AI does not discriminate.

AI is for all!

AI is the magic mirror we all saw as a fantasy in our childhood, which has left lasting impacts on us, and the fact that such power can be real is not yet realized.

Stop calling AI a black box now; call it a magic ball now! Oh, it’s not a ball, so call it Magic Mirror!

But know people worked hard to make this magic ball for you and all of us!

It costs us all!

So, at the same time, care for its use.

If on one side, the magic ball does good, as in Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast. At the same time, it does harm, as in Snow white and The Wizard of Oz.

Same things but two meanings.

Technically, it would be called a black box, but for the coming generation it’ll be the magic ball.

How much magic is good enough is another question!

As in the past, so is now.

So, the same coin has two sides.

Use judiciously; use is dependent on you.

And remember, it is still not 100% correct, so these 2026 magic balls can be defective to some extent. Bear with AI till then.
