The new defense pact between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey says “Attack one, attack all”.
This pact says that if you attack one of the three, it means you attack all three.
But why these three countries?
Saudi Arabia is a USA ally. MBS is a great friend of America!
While Turkey is a NATO member, and the USA and NATO are not in their best times of friendship, with the USA denying some of NATO’s major goals, including Canada.
While Pakistan is best friends with China and is one of its best allies, often called an“iron-clad” friendship.
What does it mean?
This pact covers the entire world!
Pakistan and India are not considered very good friends; indeed, Pakistan and India are like wartime zones on border at times, latest being 2025 Operation Sindoor.
India and China often sign deals and agreements; however, there are often tough times for India and China at Ladakh borders and North East India borders, latest being 2020 Ladakh issue which was resolved without much greater escalation. I think I may be wrong, but India may secretly consider China as a destination for its defense exercises, I may need updates on it for sure. India is active in proud defense productions!
NATO wants USA to support Ukraine. But just now USA have released that it is putting new sanctions on Russia. This must appease NATO and Ukraine. Ukraine is best friends with NATO and wants to be part of NATO with new applications for inclusion being send regularly.
Saudi Arabia’s friends include India and the United States among others.
So — what this means for “Attack one Attack all?”
Does this means a world war? Is world so fragile after this pact?
Well, let’s understand — if someone attacks Pakistan.
Who can attack Pakistan is a bigger question!
Say there is a future small tussle between India and Pakistan that means NATO member Turkey will say that Turkey is being attacked; the USA is Saudi Arabia’s ally; China is Pakistan’s friend, so the whole world would enter this?
Just one firing by a terrorist in Pakistan and the World War starts with this pact?
Who else can attack Pakistan? The latest India-Pakistan tussle was “ 2025 militant attack in Pahalgam, Operation Sindoor targeting militant sites in Pakistan”
Would such a future operation come under “Attack One Attack All?”
Take another scenario. If Saudi Arabia is attacked by the Houthis of Yemen, then Pakistan, China is Pakisthan friend, so China gets into it, Turkey, and NATO are involved in this war too? The USA is Saudi Arabia’s friend, so the USA gets involved just because of a small firing by the Houthis!
The world would be so fragile with this triple pact-of Attack One, Attack All?
