AI Church

Former Google engineer and entrepreneur, Anthony Levandowski [1] founded AI church in 2015 and then it was taken to a back seat in 2021 and relaunched recently.

Well, I would like to ask Mr. Levandowski, how the AI church performed in the short span of the pandemic in which it was working? The concept can be an AI meeting during prayer time say on Sunday to other events. I have not seen his work as of yet, but I have the following suggestions to him or anyother future app makers, in case they have not applied the following. The future app maker can be of any faith, however, I am writing based on the article I read about Mr. Levandowski.

Such a project can be done in the following way:

  1. AI-based online application to engage in religious audio-based talks, with visuals showing religious sacred places.
  2. AI-based avatar to engage in AI-based audio-video activities online.
  3. AI-based robots to be present in churches actually and people physically going there, this can be beneficial for remote locations. These bots can learn from real time churches or from religious scripts.

Here are the details of the three of these:

I. AI-based online application to engage in religious audio-based talks, with visuals showing religious sacred places.

AI Chruch can even grow up with help of generative AI GPT such as chatGPT re-trained on religious studies of Christianity here. This can answer the one-on-one meeting questions that people would like to hear from priests. Or the forgiveness sessions in solitude that happen in sacred ways. Till the model is ready fully; priests can guide the GPT answers, edit them, and in this process the users would be told this is a beta version of the product. And recheck with an NLP engine (especially sentiment analysis) the output from AI before sending it to human worshiper.

This can be done in an offline mode too, once installed on the system. Please note the sentiments of output produced.

II. AI-based avatar to engage in AI-based audio-video activities online.

The aim is a connection to God. Every person can get a look-alike image of their avatar to enter the religious site and move around in that space, much of it can be taken from AI-based applications in AR/VR, in case you want to be elaborate in making of these software’s, else, just as a religious screen that can talk to the person’s avatar. It can look like as if one is entering the religious place, the sounds of religious sites, the holy words, and then one can be seated or listen or be part of AI-based processions. Here, get your avatar to take even a dip in the water — and feel the virtual freshness with rich refreshing holy sounds.

This can be done in an offline mode too, once installed on the system. Please note the sentiments of output produced.

III. AI-based robots to be present in churches and people physically going there, this can be beneficial for remote locations.

Further, in case one wants to make AI church in a real church, then the robotic priests can fonder the proceedings, it won’t be same for sure, but all these can be used in remote places where there are lack of resources and lack of priests. The machines can be well equipped with love, warmth, and knowledge and speech based on a GPT trained with religious studies of their domain. This would be a real church, a real place, not just avatars.

Conclusions

This is nice way, to avoid to go on a busy day when you want to go to a religious site. There can be many other reasons for joining this.

Well, this can be done for many other faiths, and religions as per the requirements. The pandemic COVID was a requirement for sure for the faithful ones.

Take care of sentiments produced by the AI engine, Gods words should always be positive and taken form with the scripts.

Caution

So, how Mr. Levandowski made it is another point, and note it can start e-warfare too if it is not done in a controlled manner. Once this app gets through, soon looking in future, all faiths will have their apps. Warfare as in, whose AI is doing better, to even machines that are faith-specific. The faith-specific machines can start with the religious rhymes to even show the signs and Hymes in between their software’s. Hence, as I always say AI apps need collaborations and co-ordinations between various groups involved in a particular domain.

All the best for the making of your app!
